World War III?
By: D'ajah Harris

Lots have been going on ever since U.S. President Trump executed Iranian general Qassem Soleimani 1/3/20. Most questions have been roaming around on whether if there’s going to be a World War III or not. Based on the president’s choices.
“If cooler more rational heads do not prevail, we could be drug into a war. I am glad that the latest attack by Iran, on U.S. bases did not kill Americans or American military personnel. This I believe could easily have started a war. I think both countries are controlled by leaders who are impulsive and that could quickly escalate any situation,” history teacher George Pineda said.

Once in your life you get a job. It should be the most exciting thing you do because it’s a first time thing.
Junior Samantha Barrera is attempting to get her first job at Waba Grill.
“I still have to wait until I'm 16 because right now I’m still 15. You told me that Waba Grill usually hires at 15 so I'm gonna try there,” Barrera said.
There are many places that hire at 15 but usually the age is 16. Kids who are 15 can only work as a custodian or customer service person because they aren’t legally old enough to work in the kitchen.

Anitta - Brazilian Funk Star
By: Aline Almeida de Freitas

When you hear the word Funk, what comes to your mind? Probably a mix of Jazz and Blues, however, in Brazil, Funk is a totally different music genre that, for almost a decade, has been changing lives. It is fair to say that Anitta was a huge part of it.
Anitta was always more than just another Funk artist. Since her first successful song, “Show Das Poderosas” released in 2013, the Funk industry in Brazil changed for good. The rhythm that started in Rio’s poor neighborhoods called “favelas,” finally got known nationwide.
Born and raised in a favela in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, Anitta made her way through the top hits of Brazil by dedicating herself after her first single was released. As the success came, she decided that she wanted more. She started studying English and Spanish, she invested a lot of money on her career and now she has songs in three languages.
