If you like football then the Key Game is right for you. The key game is when rivals Hesperia and Sultana go against each other and play for the Key to the city.

Edward Adams, Gabriel Villegas, and Andrew Perez are on the varsity team and they played for the Key. They were all expecting to win.

“We did extremely well, I think because it was the Key Game everybody was really in,”  Adams said.

During the game everyone was cheering our team support our boys playing. The football players are going through so many emotions before the game starts and when they are playing.

“It feels great because of the three year drought and how we got the key back senior year,” Villegas said.

The coach works the boys hard for this game. All the football team was waiting for this game to come and win that Key back.

“Focus on the game, my teammates made sure we were on track,” Villegas said.

The boys were really into the game and they did not let the Key get taken from us again. They all try to be in the game and try to outplay Sultana.

“I wouldn’t say there were any benefits, you know I can always come back and look at it be like, ‘oh, I brought back the Key or my senior class brought back the key,’” Perez said.

The whole team did great. At the end of the game everyone was happy that they won the Key. After three years we have the Key and Lock on our campus.

“We overlook it and we were going to roll in at their house and just whoop them and take the Key back but what they did they beat us and that taught us like you know we can just overlook every team even though they weren’t going that well,” Perez said.
